I got my passport back today with the visa extension. Everything looks good. Good luck to the rest of you. hey guys mine did not get approved.i was given 221g, and the reason was last visa expired more than more year ago.damn, i was late by just ten days.i did not know this was a condition.anway.
i guess will go back to india and get it stamped there.
hey can anyone share some expriences with visa in mexico and canada.is it still possible to get it rrevaldated there.alsowhat do we need to take along to the consulate to get it stamped.

dec 2 2002, and i sent on 9th dec 2003.but i guess it was not me,i may have got it.but what happened when i went to india for my marriage, my h1 was valid till dec 2002.i went in oct 2001 and got married , they stamped my wife h4 till april 2002.it was surprising cause she was supposed to get it till the same day as mine.i could not do anything that time as i had to some back next day.i came here and called ins and they said to send then i 539 and i 20 days she got new i94 till dec 2002.so i guess when the visa officer must have seen the last stamp on my wife passport had expried in april 2002.
well my bad luck.

hey has anyone in this thread done or in proceess of canandian immigration.i had some question.there is another forum for that, but i guess i am very comfortanble here, do want to go to that forum.

I too have sent passports for of my family for stamping by USPS Priority Mail - certified and it was received at the DOS at SL on 12/23/2003. I too am waiting for a response. Kindly add me to your list.

Hey Sayeedk, sorry to hear about that, but, anyway, you could go and get the stamping in Canada, but, i have heard that stamping in Toronto is not advisable, instead please go to Ottawa. Coz, thats where a couple of my friends got their visas stamped easily

thanks for the help.i have a question if u dont mind, has there been a instance if the consulate refusues the visa , and people have come back on i797.did any of ur friends face this situation.
also i have a little one,he is just 17 months and when i go there with my wife i have to take my kid also.will i be allowed to take him in to the consulate.he was born here, i guess thats hould not be a problem, but i wtill want to share it with u guys and see what others have to say

Guys, would it not be great if everybody included themselves in the list?
Simply copy and paste the list and add ur name, just please take care that you dont miss any of the existing names and you add your name in the order of sl dates
 
I havent heard of anyone having the visa refused in canada as yet, so it seems ok to try there. Regarding your kid, as far as I know, noone except the person applying for revalidation is allowed in the consulate. not even US citizens, that was what was the situation in the US consulate at Mumbai. Maybe, they would be linient for 17 months old

I also got through a phone call to the DOS and was told that it currently is taking anywhere upto 16 weeks for revalidating a H1 visa.
