Hi kalse_2000

When your visa stamp expired in your passport. If expired more then 1 year you have to go to your country and get stampped. Before 1 Year then they have to approve.

I don't know what is the reason they asked you to go to your country for Interview.

Would you be able to share some more details of your case. What was the expiry date on your visa? Where did you get you original visa stamped (SR country/Canada?) Did you went through security clarence when you applied previously?

Hi Guys,
My Sl date was 12/04/2003 and DC was 12/31/2003.
My Last Visa was Expire 01/07/2004. ( When They keep it with them in lock BOX). That SUCKS ... they keep it for 3 months and then said that I have to appear for interview.....Thats ' BULL....
Any way I got my first Visa in my home country .. and then got my 2nd Visa stamped from DC in 2001 which expired in 01/07/2004.

They did not give me any reason......except they check that box on 221g where it said you should be appear for interview......


I hope this will not happrn any of u ...

1 year Expiry

Hi Folks,
My visa got expired more than an year. I am not sure which date they would consider for cut off (like sl/dc ). From my view point i sent documents atleast 10 days before "1 year expiration". Any one has similar experience?

Even though i am eagerly waiting for my approval, i think i have a less chance of getting approved. I will update once i get an answer.

Any comments, welcome.
 
Sorry to hear about that kalse_2000, I guess, its because of the country. Because, I did see some posts for 221g for guys from Pakistan. Anyway, I guess, you can still get the stamping done from Canada, as it is only the US consulate that matters.
 
does it matter if its married or single?? Is there a difference in the way they process because of the marital status?

Good News!!
I just called the 202-663-1225 number and got throught within 10 minutes. The lady I spoke to was really helpful she said my visa (and my wife's H4) got approved today and is in the print queue. Will update shortly once I receive it.

Approved in print queue 3/5
Will hopefully receive it early next week. :)
 
Yes it matters a lot.Married ppl from these countries are getting very easily but single do have porblems !

guys i have also sent the wrong ds156, i did not send the bar coded one.should they sent it back to me earlier.or will it stil take more than three months before they send it back to me.
does any one know if they received there before three months wit the wrong form and they sent back with the corrections

Hi vfwlkr and Mdev
Does the 202-663-1225 number provide status on the revalidation? I tried calling them yesterday and they politely refused stating that they are not allowed to provide any status. Is it the same lady who answers the phone everytime or different persons? I guess it depends on who is answering.
However, congratualtions on you both getting the visa approved. Hope others follow suit soon!!
 
I would assume it would be different people.
This is the first time I called and I guess was lucky she cooperated. Also, not sure if it helps to say it has been more than 3 months( if it is) since I applied for revalidation and politely request her for status.
Although, all this wouldn't matter if the person has decided not to give the info to begin with. So I guess it is mostly luck...

passport on fedex

i just found that they have sent my passort it was scaned by fedex at 3.42, i will have it tommorow.well guess i have to send it back as i had not sent the barcoded form.atleast its on the way back
