I just checked my portifolio and date LAST UPDATED is changed from 2002 to 02/04/2005 ????

When I click on my case, still same msg:
"Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on January 10, 2000. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."

My RD is Dec 28, 1999

What are they doing??? I almost got a heart attack when I saw date change.

me too

Same thing has happened to my application a few months ago. My LUD is 02/05/04. Nothing has changed since then...

Do not read too much into it. I think it means that someone at the USCIS took a look at your file. It may or may not be significant.

My LUD changed 02/04/2005 and 02/07/2005. I was issued an RFE 02/04/2005.
The LUD on my renewal for I-765 and I-131 has changed today also even though my I-765 was approved.

nofreedom,

grungee is not an asylee, accordinng to the info on his signature, do not compare his case to yours. It is very possible that you are going to get approved soon, because it is about time for your RD to get approved. I have noticed that they usually change the LUD when they look at the file, then change it when they send a letter of some sort or if they take the case to a supervisor for approval or denial (not likely in asylee's case). Did you file your medical forms together with your I-485?

yes, I filed my medical with my application. I will keep you posted guys. Nothing in the email yet ...

does anybody knows how long it takes them to process a case once they started looking into it? (of course assuming that it is a normal, non complicated case).

I think everyone here is experienced with the USCIS enough to know that they do not have a "typical" timeframe for anything. Just relax. It will come soon enough.

I wouldn't worry about it..

Not to rain on your parade but if I were you Nofreedom, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My LUD was changed from 2001 to 02/05/04 six months ago. Nothing happened after that. This LUD is very deceiving, sometimes it changes if they do something very trivial with your file. It could be as insignificant as sending you an FP notice. I guess it gave me pleasure to know that my file is still alive and it is not lost in USCIS jungle. Best things for Asylees is to keep an eye on the processing dates. I haven't heard any asylee application was processed a year or two before it was supposed to. But this is just my opinion....

Change of Adress

FYI it happened to me when I changed the address, the date changed on the on-line status and nothing else happened.

Did any of you guys changed the address?

I'm not worrying, but at least it gives me something to do :D

HOWEVER, the date changed again TODAY to 02/07/2005. Msg is still the same. My date didn’t change since 2002. I did FP and address change and TD and inquiries and it never changed. That why it is strange to me now. Maybe I will get something in the mail, or maybe not. We will see soon. But it would be nice if they started to update their system real time, whatever that means. At least you know that somebody touched your file. Makes me feel good, even if this is not the real approval or anything.

I am sure there will be real movements in case your case soon.

hopefully it will. If this is the case, at least some other people can rely on that information. If not, at least we will know that again, like in the past, you can not rely on USCIS at all (which is probably the case :( )

some of the LINs that I'm watching got approved on Jan 27th and some got request for RFE on Jan 31st. Things are moving ...

One of them had RFE requested on Dec 21st 2004 and got approved on Jan 27th. However, there are few with RFE requested on Nov 4th and Dec 3rd, and still nothing. Maybe it depends how fast you send your RFE, but at least you can get an idea how long it took these guys.

I think here's what happens. All of us have one unique file. When we apply for any immigration document (EAD, RTD, adress change) they open that file and the date changes to current.

My date changed too from 2002 to 02/07/05. It never changed for FP last year my RD is 04/00...Propably is nothing ........we'll see

Date changed again today to 02/08/2005

This is a third day somebody is looking at my file. 2/4, 2/7 and 2/8
