AyansGp, there is some problem with the data you have provided.
At the bottom of the sheet, there are records saying Approved/Completed on 08/28/2001.

SRC0125553xxx Card ordered 8/28/2001 Approved/Completed
SRC0125553xxx Card ordered 8/28/2001 Approved/Completed
Can you please re-check and then post the data.

2001GCFiler , from time to time you asked to run the SRC for your date and when someone has asked you a question, you have not even replied back.
Scroll thru this thread and reply to those questions first.
what kind of problems do you get ?

Tombaan, dude don't run the re-scans from the consolidated file.
It will be slow since the consolidated file hs got quite bigger.
I would suggest copying the sheets into a smaller file and closing the consilidated file and then running the re-scan.
I have attached a file which I use for re-scan, so you get to know what was the status before.
Also check your private msg.

Great News ..... More Approvals

There are 15 approvals on 11/19/03 and 2 approvals on
11/20/03 for the range SRC01-255 and SRC01-256.

My wife and I were among the approvals.

This is wonderfull news for us, after so many years
in the dark, I finally see some light.

Don't loose your hopes, looks like that TSC is speeding up.

Best Wishes and Good Luck for all,

Palao

PS. Let me know if you need help scanning !!!!!

Version 50 :))

Hello All,

Attached is Version 50.

Summary form the data :
Approvals in Oct : 145
Approvals in Nov : 51 ( still lots of data to be scanned ; most data is of OCT time frame)

seems things are improving. Oct had 3 times approval as compared to previous months.

Just incorporated some more changes

Version 51

Attached is V51.

Scanned more dates but now I have been locked out.

Could somebody scan more dates please.

ONE easy way to scan using the consolidated file use the following steps:

1. Open Consolidated file
2. Open a new excel doc ( give it the name temp )
3. Right click on the "Summary" sheet and select "Move or Copy .."
4. Now from the "To book" item on top selcet the "temp" file
5. Click OK
6. The summary sheet is now "moved from the Consolidated file to the temp file"
7. Save and close the temp file.
8. NOW it is easy to run the "ModifiedScan" Macro because excel does not need to keep calculating the summary.
7. Run the ModifiedMarco on as many sheets as you can.
8. One this is done , the summary sheet must be copied back.
9. Open the "temp" excel file.
10. Select the "summary" sheet
11. Right click on the "Summary" sheet and select "Move or Copy .."
12. Now from the "To book" item on top selcet the "consolidated" file
13. Click OK
14. Update the "scan date" on the sheets you have scanned.
15. Save , ZIP and post the new file on this thread.

Splitting efforts

Alright
Dvorak, Ayansgp, Palao, Tombaan, eb2_I485_RD0901, Dinnu,
Bajis, Braves2003, FreshHopeful, Bash, oocyte,pradha,vidy5300,
luna,suny,satya,frustratedsky,texasboy,luna,IndianInDallas,
485TSC,Manolacho,Bash,luta,jvk,ffidx,w8nc,jaysee,rkmanam,
Antsy02098,TxsNewf,Maybesoon,plasticcard, May01 & anyone else who have contributed to the Data consolidation effort and who would like to continue further -

I suggest the following

1> Rather than individually scanning their own SRC date range from time to time I am thinking if we split the Excel file into Ranges of approx 1000 Non- approved cases.

I feel it is better to have the 1000 cases in 1 single excel sheet, This file contains both approved as well as non-approved cases so the total might be more than 1000.

2> And then one of us takes ownership of running the re-scans for every weekend and post the results.

3> Then every weekend, one of us will get all the posted results and update the consolidated file.
Please be careful and don't lose any numbers

This would allow others to scan for newer Data ranges and add to consolidated file.

I see lot of Advantages in doing so -
1> We make max use of the 1000 hits per IP limit.
2> We are splitting efforts & not re-doing it.
3> We are able to collect more and more data.

Tell me what do you all think of this idea.

I have attached the example file
below SRC01-1-247.xls which means SRC01-001 to SRC01-247.

re: scans

Good idea. Are you going to divide the records and create separate files and post them here? We also need to make clear what files each of us are taking .

yes dvorak, I will wait for few more people to approve this idea and then I will divide other files into sheets.
As per who does what we will follow the FiFo fashion ( unlike TSC)

Breaking File in multiple!

Just a suggestion!

May be you want to break the consolidated file based on the year of filling. like 01,02,03 .... etc.

It will be easy in future for other people to add their range. we are already in 04 ranges.(Mine is 03).

This way we can even calculate approval separately for each year.

Thanks
IndianInDallas.

I disagree & Agree

goastros,

I disagree with having independent sheets (each with 1000 un-approved cases ). Managing this would be a nightmare.

I agree with splitting the effort but do this I would suggest that we base this on the number of un-approved cases in consecutive sheets.

e.g based on todays data one person could do SRC01-001 to SRC01-169. And the next person could do the next set.

And like I mentioned above the best way to do this :

The only thig is that in this case if one person has to do lots of sheets , the macro has to be run many times. The advantage is that the data does not have to be moved arround and no cut & paste of the individual cases (just the summary sheet)

goastros,

I am in favour of breaking the file into few like 3 per year or so ie. one file for every four months or so and leaving the current structure of independant sheet for a day.

That is fine by me. we can do multiple sheets per person.
i personally prefer multiple days in 1 single sheet so i leave it scanning at night which is how i did when was re-scanning in Oct & early Nov.
So manual intervention at that time is less but i agree re combining results again is a Bitch.

I believe it is 6 or half dozen.
either way is fine as long as each ones takes responsibility of rescans and the remaining guys scan for more results.
