INSTRUCTIONS TO RUN THE EXCEL MACRO

1> Download the attached Excel file.

2> Open this file and check if there is a Worksheet with the name
of the dates you want to check.
for eg - if you are searching for SRC02-176, look for a
Worksheet with the name SRC02-176.
If you find one, simply rename it to maintain that data in case
needed in the future.
Then, run the macro.

3> Before you run the macro check the security level of your Excel
file.
Security Level tab is found at (Tools menu, Macro
submenu, Security command).
The level cannot be at High, it should be changed to Medium
or Low
.
Now you are ready to run the macro.

4> To run the macro you have to go to the menu at the top of the
screen and look for Tools,
then look for the submenu Macro and then Macros.
It will pop up a box titled Macro.
You can see two Macros listed (I485Scan & MakeChart).
Select I485Scan and hit the Run button at the
right.
Another box will pup up titled Excel.
There, you have to enter the first five digits corresponding to
the SRC range you want
to check.
for eg - 01-001 and press OK.
Another box will pup up and enter the range of the last five
digits to check.
Start from 50000 to 51000 and go all the way to 56000.
Note - at a time, you can only scan for 1000 cases from the
same IP address before
'We are sorry' message. After that you have to change
your IP or wait for 24 hours
before you can scan again.
Important Note - When you try to scan more than
3 invalid SRCs, you get blocked as well.
So be wise in choosing the right range of SRC numbers.

5> The macro will run and will show the results found.
It will create a excel sheet with SRC and write down only the
485 cases.

6> If you want, you can also run the second macro (MakeChart)
to obtain a summary and chart of the results gathered.

7> After your 1st run is complete, for next set of 1000 nos,
rename the excel sheet by clicking on the excel tab. Then
repeat step 4>.
After this scan is over combine the 2 results.
Repeat this until you have exhausted finding the date range
or you feel exhausted..

8> Re-scan - Once you have found the SRC numbers,
re-scan the already existing Excel sheet from time to time.

And don't forget to post your results here or add to the consolidated file.

v47 - Four more approvals for sep 17, 2002

3 of them were approved today. :)

There were 127 approvals for the month of Oct. Is that a good sign? I am not sure, looks like Oct has always been a good month for approvals. There were 273 approvals for Oct 2002.

My Friends,

One more time I have tried to run this macro for my range with no success. I followed every single step you all told me to follow.
My excell says that it is done in the end but does not show any results. My conclusion is that I am not smart enough to run this macro.
Therefore I need to ask you my friends a little favor, can any of you get started the range SRC01-258? I would really appreciate that. If the macro for that range get started may be I would be able to follw it up.

Regards,

JLSBR

That is great Antsy02098 & JlsBr.
Let me know if you need any more help.

To tackle the 1000 hits per Ip problem, there is a way out but
you will have to change your proxy settings each time though.
If you want to try that let me know.

Here is a file for src03_007 , Can Some body add this to the main when you consolidate next

Thanks

Gentleman,

Here is the file for SRC01-258.
Please attach it to the consolidated data.

Approvals,

I noticed 7 approvals on 10/30/03 for the range 01-258, This is a good sign. May be things will go smoother from know on. I will do one scan weekly on this range to see how things atr going.
Another thing I notice is that after a certain number aroun 4000 cases we do not find any I 485 any more, just another type of cases such as fiance, card replacement, etc.
I conclude that out of the 6000 cases they receive per day only about 5% is I 485. This would be about 300000 I 485 cases per year.

Regards,

JLSBR

Jan 31, 03

here is file for Jan 31,03, I scanned it today. Not much improvement.

SRC 03-085-XXXXX

Please add to the consolidated file.

Thanks.

Is there a feature for scanning only the SRC numbers from an existing SHEET? So that once someone has done one date (and saved in a sheet), you can only run those SRCs for 485s.

This would eliminate the irritating maximum counts message by BCIS. I'm not that familiar with XL-macros, if anybody would do that please. Create a third macro that takes an existing sheet and runs the SRCs from that.

Thanks in advance.

Ayansgp, you shd be able to do that with the I485scan.xls that i had posted above. Though I am not sure since I usually use a diff macro for that. I have put it in the following attached file.

Here is another file which actually does a better job of , by moving the prior status into a new column.
Also it does not re-scan the Approved or Withdrawn statuses.

Dinnu or any VB guru, can you combine both the macros into 1 macro. Or else we can have the 2 macros into 1 file at least.

I485 filed in Jun 2001

Hi

I am unable to run the macro. I appreciate if you could help me out on this.

My SRC starts with SRC 0122560XXX

RD 06/26/2001
ND 07/23/2001
FP 05/07/2003
AP God Knows

Thanks

SRC02-031
Here is the scan. It is current to 11/10/03. Can someone add it to the consolidated file.

SRC022535******

I have tried several times to run the macro, and in the worksheet I tried to find out the src022535***** but unfortunately its not there. My online status has been changed from 725 days to 990 days. Can anybody could do me the favour by running src022535*****. I really appreciate. Right now I am in deep stress.
