Cutoff numbers for March 2014 visa bulletin (contains April Cutoffs)

I think you have little idea what it is actually like to live in an undemocratic country, and/or one that is ridden with violent crime... Not everyone here is from Western Europe or Australia.

I grew up in a communist country, "enjoyed" martial law for few years just like I enjoyed lack of electricity and gas for few months, censorship was great too, have seen people having not so good times starving - especially in the winter, most of my family had no pasports till mid nineties, had a Russian army base just around the corner, factory workers were shot from time to time, people were put to prison for nothing, some luckier family members managed escape to the West and are happy in Canada. So I do realize not everyone is fom Western Europe an Australia.

Just saying that the US is no Iceland or Austria. Depending on your social, racial status or both it could be pretty un-safe place fore some - let's say a poor, black kid in Chicago.

I went through the same ''joy'' !
Reading your post is like reading my own biography.
I guess for me the US of A will be like a holliday resort ! Even if i stay in harlem NY :)

You can be sure of two things in the great US of A. You can run, you can hide but both death and IRS will hunt you down and get what is theirs :)

Sweet DV dreams Vladek :D You will wake up shouting "I was god damn current in that dream" :p Noooooooo

ROTFL ! You made my day franko, thank you so much.

Well, after spending 25 years in Turkey i am used live with our government's non-strict measures regarding regulations. Therefore, paying taxes means something absurd in our lovely country. Statesmen love taxes due to buy new cars, original Rolexes and villas.

Ok ...so you can relate to the fact that if you still lived in the kind of conditions you grew up in, moving to the US would be a no-brainer if you got that opportunity.... Even if you ended up in a poor area in Chicago, it would still be a lot better than where you came from.

If you're a citizen you don't need a re-entry permit.
Yes, OTG getting his hackles raised. But people like Veronice and many others don't care because they think it's a price worth paying for living in a safe, free country.

Believe me, THAT IS TRUE!!!
Last night I was talking to my husband about it and we said: yes, that taxes WORK for the people. Here, work against the people (that is because last night there were lots of protests in many cities here and the military guys were firing war-weapons against students!)
Later on (maybe monday) I would post a thread about "one day in venezuelans life" and you all will understand our desperation :p

Simon,
Why AS are moving very slow?
regards

Because Nepal and Iran are accounting for 80% of the cases (about 40% each) - so Nepal in particular is having a high volume of interviews and for some reason they have not limted Nepal or Iran up to now. Once Nepal and Iran exhaust their cases (or get a country cutoff), AS will speed up - dramatically.

As an Asian selectee anxiously waiting for this "big jump", I am just wondering where do you guys get the information that Nepal and Iran each counts for around 40% of the Asian cases? And where can I find distribution of each Asian countries' case numbers? Thanks.

Both Raevsky and Rafikbo76 have posted the data extracted from the CEAC system. That shows us details for every case and various people have analysed that data. The 50/40/20 information came out shortly after the first set of data that Raevsky published. The reason for the concentration is that Nepal and Iran have far more entries than the other countries and we restricted to around 6k selectees in the draw stage. If they had been unrestricted they probably would have received 20k selectee each.

Man why tell me that AF wont go current while im dreaming :(
And franky yes i dream every night about the DV :p

If memory serves, you are running between 67k/68k...with your CN I think it's not only a dream, it's a reality :) .... Unless you are from a special country... this is the reason for my question!!!

Nepal and Iran may exhaust their cases in Aug or Sep.Then when should expect dramatic jump?

I don't think KCC will wait for the last 2 months to push the button. The latest should be July and they still have 2 months to go for rest of Asia. So, May cut off will tell us something if the progress increase to 1.5k or more. I think they will put more and more visa slot for the remaining months and that will actually push Nepal into special cut off (if Nepal still getting 40% of selectees). Apr cut off already increase it progress by almost double from 625 to 1025 CN increased, so that might be the sign of AS going to start the acceleration.
