Current H1 Processing / Stamping / Entry Situation

hello here

Registered Users (C)
Dear Members,

I am posting for a friend of mine. Please help.

He is a Canadian Permanent Resident. He has a degree equivalent to Masters from India (in computer field).
He has 2 years of real expereince (in computer field) back in india.
After immigrating to Canada (Toronto) because of the bad job market, he couldn't get a job in computer field. So he has been working as a sales agent for some company in Canada for last 6/7 months.

Now he has got a job offer from a company in US (has more than 50 employees) and they are sponsoring H1B for him.

Looking at the current economic situation and my friends last 6 months of non-computer realted job (they just pay him without pay stubs), is it advisable for my friend to get this offer or wait for sometime till economy improves.

If he chooses to accept the offer and get the H1 stamped, please advice whether he should stamp in Toronto, Canada OR Mumbai, India or any other place.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Hello Here.

Bad economy or not, stamping conditions dont change. your friend can get the h1b stamped whereever he likes. As a canadian PR he is eligible to get it stamped in toronto. US consulate in toronto cannot cancel the h1, they might (for lack of facilities to verify the degree) might deny the visa and ask your friend to apply at home country. Toronto is notorious for this...

h1b stamping in Toronto

Thanx Jaxen for your suggession

I am also in the same situation as hello here's friend.

But I have got verified i.e evaluation of my Indian Degrees from World Education services Canada And also from The City University of New York.

So will there be still any problem for getting h1b stamped at Toronto.

Thanks in advance
