CSC I-485 Filing- May to Dec 2005 Tracking

i got the following email from CRIS after phone inquiry:

Pending- Your I-485 application is still pending review and undergoing additional system checks. Please allow approximately 90 days for this process to be completed before inquiring in reference to the status of these cases. You will be notified by mail once a decision has been made on your case. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated

Last time I got a mail saying that it is pending FBI name check. I think these two mean the same.

Any reason why it should be different from name check?
Most likely it is not FBI name check. I inquried on Oct 4 and got a response on Nov 15 with exact message as you, only difference is that mine was 60 days. I know my FBI name check was cleared in Feb 2006. And my case was approved a week later on Nov 23, 2006.

Off topic question: Traveling to India and returning with AP document

I know this is off topic, but I know this forum will provide better answers than anywhere else, so here goes:

My wife and I are traveling to India and we are both currently working with EAD and will be carrying our AP document to return back to the US.

Has anyone done that recently? What other documents do we need to carry?

Based on our lawyer's recommendation, we stopped renewing/extending the H-1B's since we had EAD/AP.

Thanks in advance!

My wife returned couple of months ago and an AP is all she needed. Agent asked her to wait, took the AP into some room and returned back in 2 mins.

thanks for the note.
I hope this is the case. name check was pending sometime toward end of summer. If it is cleared in the past few months, i would be very happy.

I had lud yesterday and today but it always happens when they open your file and put it back where it was. If I get some more, then it should mean something but not very likely.

It looks like my case might have been approved although I never had case status
contains "approval" in the text.

I have got 5 identical e-mails starts like this:

"Current Status: Card production ordered.

On November 28, 2006, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you."

Technically speaking, I do not know what type of "new card" I'm getting...

We traveled in October We just had our passports and AP. they take your documents redirect you to a waiting room for processing the AP. Depending on the Airport traffic it might take anywhere from few minutes to an hour.

What was the message before you got the current message ?

I think my last status was something like "response to RFE received".

I have got LUD's on 10/30,10/31 on both approved 140 and 485.
Then I got those massive message changes without LUD's at around
November 18th.

Good luck.

Congratulations! I think this is approval. what was your RFE response date to USCIS? I just want to predict about my case.

i assume those end of october lud's were due to name check clearance.

Thanks! Looks like it is similar to njreddy's experience.

Thanks a lot. That helps relieve some anxiety.

I don't think my RFE response date will help you predict your case, I'm afraid.
It was sometime in October, 2005 and my case was stuck in NC since
June, 2005. I have had "pending on security check" status until Oct 2005
and "RFE response" status since then.

In your case, your security check and NC were already cleared before
you got RFE. I think you should get approvals pretty soon. Otherwise
you have a strong case to push USCIS expidite processing, IMHO.

I got a stupid RFE on medical too. And the RFE message was so generic
like "some test are missing". Lawyer could not figure it out. The hospital
refused to do re-test since they couldn't figure out what is missing from the medical.
I was the one who figured it out: a freaking comma(",") was missing
in one of those damn tests accompanied the medicals. I was about to
explode at that moment: why wouldn't they say so in RFE message for
the medicals?

What a mess we're going thru ! Good luck.

update - name check still pending

Hi,
I recently changed my address and called the customer service to update.
For some reason, it never got updated. I was able to talk to immigration officer today and updated my address. Also found that my name check is still pending. The officer was nice and told that they sent to FBI on Sep 1st 2005. She told it may take upto 3 years to clear and the maximum can be 5 years. Is their any thing I can do? Who is the congressman for Bay Area and can you tell if the congressman was helpful.
Raj.
