CSC I-485 **Approvals** in APR 2004.

#22, GCMAN_2001, WAC-02-275-5XXXX Approved!

Dear Portal Members,

Labor Applied: 03-May-2001
Labor Approved: Around Jun/Jul-2002
I140 Approved : Aug/Sep-2002
ND: Sep-13-2002
RFE Received: MAR-19-2004
2nd FP done: 01-APR-2004
RFE-Replied: 05-APR-2004
RFE-Received: 07-APR-2004
Approved: 23-APR-2004

Mine is NOT a concurrently filed case.

Yesterday, Apr-23-2004, GCs for my wife and myself were approved . I thought we were the worst effected and mentally prepared for 1 more year of waiting as we are in the end of the "JAN-02 to SEP-02" group.

Not sure if this is any coincidence or not, Apr-24th is my birthday!

I am a longtime visitor/reader of this portal and this is my first post in this forum. I would like to thank Rajeev S Khanna for providing this wonderful forum, PCGCEE, Sillyman, Kashmir, I40_takes_forever and all others who contribute a lot to this forum. Without you guys this waiting could have been a real hell.

Hang in there guys, the approvals are just round the corner!

Cheers!

All,

My case has been approved on April 23, 2004. I checked the CIS online status Friday evening, and it said that my case has been approved. It has been a long journey. This website has been a tremendous help. I did the second AP and EAD just from the information out of this website. I would like to thank Rajiv Khanna for providing this wonderful forum, and those who answered my questions that I posted for help.

I was wondering why my case has been approved earlier than others. I could only guess two things.
1. I started the Green Card process in November, 2000. That is, my Labor Certification started in November, 2000.
2. My case is a concurrent filing of I140 and I485 together in August, 2002.

WAC 02-120 approved

Woo-hoo! Just got the email from the INS notification system that my WAC 02-120 I-485 has been approved.

Maybe it's early because my fingerprints are about to expire soon (done in March 2003).

Receipt Date: late February 2002;
FP date: March 2003 (yes, I had to wait for over a year to get the first FP appointment)
No RFE requested

WAC02-031XXXXX Approved
I was a silent visitor of this forum for the last 3 years. Last 6 months I stopped checking this forum out of frustration.

But Today I registered to let others know that Finally after 2.5 years I got my approval letter. I had 3 RFE (2 for EVL), 3 AP and 3 EADs. I got my first RFE 15 months back and last RFE 2 months back.

My labor certification took 1 month, I-140 6 months, I-485 2.5 years. Never changed my Employer (One of the largest hightech company).

WAC02-031-xxxxx
RD: OCT 1st, 2001
ND: Nov, 2001
FP1: Dec, 2001
FP2: June, 2003
Approved Date: 21st April, 2004

My observation, you can never predict on INS processing time. One of my friend got approved within 3 months (last year) and some of are still waiting who applied before me. Some of us got RFE 2 or 3 times, some got their approval without RFE. All of us are on same job classification, same company.

Just read the magical words - "This case has been approved." I just don't believe that my case has been approved so soon. I was preparing myself for another 1 year of wait.

This is a EB-2 Case. I-485 was *NOT* filed concurrently with I-140.

Fingerprinting done 01/14/03
RFE received 03/17/04 (For EVL, W-2, Tax returns etc.)
RFE replied 04/02/04
RFE received by USCIS 04/14/04
Case approved 04/28/04.

My wife's case (WAC-03-037-5XXXX) also has been approved

#36, gjk, wac02-061-5xxxx approved + stamped at SFO

what can i say, my journey is over -
- filed i-485 in december 01
- 3 APs
- 3 EADs
- 1st FP don't even remember when any more
- 2nd FP in november 03
- RFE (usual stuff - EVL and w-2s) in november 03
- responded to RFE and response received also in november 03
- asked lawyer to find out what's happening in march 04
- approved april 22nd (received email from USCIS after creating profile on their site a couple of days before then)
- stamped at SFO today (april 29th)

first, thanks goes to Rajiv for the excellent site + Pcee, SillyMan, Kashmir, longwait_2001, and others for their gracious volunteer efforts. much appreciated.

good luck for those of you who don't have approvals yet, and i hope they come soon.

now for the stamping experience (hopefully helps others at some point) -

- notice says should go to Sansome St and office hours are 8am-2pm
- actual hours, address, steps to follow are best described at http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/sanfran/aboutus.htm#anchor1658746
- notably, one should go to Sansome only if they have an appointment (supposedly this can be set up by calling 1 (800) 375-5283 but i did not try that)
- if you don't have an appointment, go to Washington St line
- i showed up around 6:20 and there were already 100+ people in line
- line starts moving (ie people are let into building) even before 7am
- note that cameras are not allowed inside so if you have a fancy cell phone better don't take it with you ;)
- got in around 7:15
- explain to one clerk why you're there, get a token, sit down in a room with 100+ people and wait until your number shows up on screen
- i got called in about 2 mins, presumably because 1 clerk was dedicated to PP stamping
- clerk asked for approval notice (i brought original, don't know if courtesy copy would work), i-94s, EADs, 2 pictures (notice says everything about what these should be like), but not for APs
- clerk then took the index fp and asked to sign
- finally stamped PP
- whole thing took about 10 mins and i was out on street around 7:30

now the wait for actual GC begins but clearly that is a bit less stressful ;)
