I think it's clearer now.
So, since according to July 2006 visa bulletin, for India EB-2 they are processing cases with PD of Jan 2003, I have to wait and watch for the visa bulletin to reflect cases from Oct 2005 and hope that that is when my 485 will be processed?

One aspect is still not clear: how come in Sept. 2005, visa bulletin for this categoy said current, shouldn't that have meant that all cases filed till before that were being processed on time and suddenly now it is back to 2003?

What is my PD?

Hi,
It may be a simple question but I am confused. A lot of posters in this group mention their PD in their messages. Is it the PD of the Labor cert that is mentioned on I-140 approval? or some other date.
Please look at my signature below for date and please advise when should I see some action on my case.

PD: Dec 2000
140 AD: Feb 2006
485 RD: Mar 2006, FP: Jun 2006
 
PD is the "pritority date" of your case. If you go through labor certificate process, like RIR or PERM, PD is the RD of your labor certificate; if you do not go through labor certificate process, like EB1 OR or NIW, PD is the RD of your I-140 petition. If you use subsitituted labor certificate, PD is the RD of the original labor certificate.

Occasionally, people in the forum use PD to mean visa bulletin cut-off date, although this is not a correct way to describe it. For example, someone say my PD is 7/1/06, or my PD will become current on 7/1/06. That means his or her PD is before 7/1/06, and visa number will be available to him on 7/1/06.

Not sure what order CIS is following

I thought CIS said they will process cases in FCFS order, but obviously they do not. I'm monitoring cases around my ND (WAC05148-05150) and there are less than 1/3 approvals in each group. And only very few cases got updated since Feburary (let alone approvals), beside those cases transferred to TSC.

for the phone call I called the (800) 375 – 5283 number. good luck.

What's answer you got from the phone? I know you got email response from CSC that your name check is cleared back to Feb.
