criminal record??

HI, i just knew that my future husband had a Misdemeanor for fighting with the guy 4 years ago, he was in jail just for one day and then he just paid the fee. (the other guys sued him because of his broken hand but he lost it) so... we want to apply for my green card through marriage(he is a citizen) does that misdemeanor will affect my papers? is it bad criminal record? thank you for any advice
