We have almost one thread for each SESA and Regional DOL center. Most probably you all have already notice that these thread are marked as important and they stay on the top of the list.

Lately I have received messages from members regarding tracker threads within "Labor Certification" forum. Some of you suggested creating a new sub-forum and moving all the tracker threads in there. I would like all of you to provide me a feedback on creating a sub-forum called "Tracker" within "Labor Certifications" forum and move all the tracker thread into newly created forum.

Once we have enough members either supporting or rejecting the idea, we will submit a request to the Webmaster.

Following are list of suggestions so far we have received:
1) Create one sub-forum "LC Tracker" within "Labor Certification" forum.
2) Move current trackers (threads) into sub-forum.
3) Members are not allowed to start new thread in the sub-forum.

Please post your opinion and also vote in the poll. I will keep this new thread marked as important and we will make decision after 15 days (i.e. on April 10, 2004).

Following are the guidelines while voting in the poll:
a) Vote "YES" if you think creating a new sub-forum is a good idea.
b) Vote "NO" if you are against the proposed change.

Hi usnycus,

There are too many important threads, do you think it will be good idea to create sub groups based on region, this will allow trackers/SESA/DOL discussion relating to a particular region to be contained in particular area and make it easy to access.

Well obviously Amit Goel created it. Well I know it cause we were in same hostel/institute. That site has some other purpose and is good in its own way. This site is different and has its own unique way - let us not mix the issue with examples.

I think tracker is a good idea ONLY if moderated. One should not be allowed to start a thread under tracker sub-section. All threads generated under it should come thru moderator.(state and region processing)and that is all). Apart from that main LC section should be left as it is - cause most of the questions are common to everyone.

I will abstain from voting - casue I am comfortable anyways and above all people who are waiting in queue should voice their comfort first.

usnycus - nice job - keep it up.

First of all, thanks to both of you for your valuable input and continuous participation in the forum.

Please keep in mind that we are not planning to implement any new tracker but trying to effectively use the existing ones. There are no functionality improvements in the plan but to make current forum (trackers and threads) navigable.

Also I liked the idea "jharkhandi" pointed out in his previous post and that is "One should not be allowed to start a thread under tracker sub-section; All threads generated under it should come thru moderator (state and region processing); Apart from that main LC section should be left as it is - cause most of the questions are common to everyone".

Following are list of suggestions so far we have received:

1) Create one sub-forum for each regional center within "Labor Certification" forum.
- LC in Boston Region
- LC in New York Region
- LC in Philadelphia Region
- LC in Atlanta Region
- LC in Chicago Region
- LC in Dallas Region
- LC in Denver Region
- LC in San Francisco Region
- LC in Seattle Region

2) In newly created sub-forum, create one tracker for Regional DOL center and one for each SESA (RIR/N-RIR) within that regional center. If one already exists, we will move them into respected sub-forum.

3) Members are not allowed to start new thread in the sub-forum.

4) Members are required to send request to the moderator if they want to start a new thread for any SESA/State in any sub-forum.

5) Members are allowed to start/post new threads/messages in the threads under ""Labor Certification" forum.

I think Seattle and San Francisco have merged for Federal processing into San Francisco.

Nice point 001. Also I read somewhere that from one state, depending on some factors - some cases were sent to two different centers - one was Texas, perhaps other was Chicago - not sure about state. TAMIL_GC had pointed one such case in one of his replies.

So on the safer side - we should keep Fed and state trackers on one level. This will leave less source of confusion for users too(1 level less deep.).

And if PERM comes up, one thread be allowed to run on same level(PERM will not have separate state and fed processing).

People may also like to track thru backlog reduction centers - so flat structure will be ideal.

Two comments

We have developed our own tracker software, which I hope is a lot more versatile than the ones we see. It is currently in beta.
The best thing about this software is, we have developed it through our own team. You need any changes, we can make them.

MONICA, ANY CHANCE OF A SNEAK PREVIEW? MAKE SURE YOU TAKE EVERYONE'S INPUT WHEN PUTTING IN THE FIELDS IN THE TRACKERS.

Second, this is your forum. You tell me what changes you want in the structure.

regding Seattle and san franscisco queues, they are still distinct queues. Both sets are processed from SFO DOL but processing dates, time between approval and hardcopy being mailed out etc. are separate, so makes sense to keep them separate threads.

I don't think we have enough members either supporting or rejecting the idea. I guess most of members are happy with the Forum the way it is.
