CP- What happens if some document is missing for interview?

CP- What if some document is missing? (meaning you have not got this ready for the interview). Do you get time to turn this in Or do you get rejected? Also if you get time to turn this in, i assume the Embassy will not keep your passport?
Thanks

I wonder why some ppl have missing documents a time of interview. The minimum time to collect all the papers is about 6 month, think the average about 10 month, form my view tons of time.

If rejected or denied, how does this impact the pending 2 1/2 months left on my current TN status? Do i still get to reenter US and finish this off?
Also, worst case, if I reschedule the interview (so document is received), can i still renew the TN (as long as done before the new interview date)?
{Please note that i am not the priniciple applicant on the DV.. but as family member but also am currently on TN)

As far as I know (based on what many people have written about their CP experiences in this forum) if a document is missing at the time of the interview, the person is given a chance to acquire and submit that document later.

you may not be able to, since TN is a non-immigrant visa (not dual intent, like H1b or L1 visas), and you clearly demostrated immigrant intent.

Thanks all.
Question for LucyMo or others.. if given time to bring the document, during that time, can I reenter the US while the TN is still valid?

Also, should I renew the TN before the CP or no need at this time?

Thnaks for all feedback.
