CP to AOS after I-140 Approval when CP was marked in I-140.

I marked CP in I-140. If i choose to go for AOS after I-140 is approved will it involve more time for I-485 then if I had selected AOS in I-140 itself in the first place?

my case is also the same.. filed I140 with CP,
now, I want to go for 485/AOS.
Spoke to a Legal Assistant.. he says i can still go for I485.
Please confirm..
I140 says.. this completes all INS action on this petition..if you have questions contact NVC directly..

Where is 485 processed? Isn\'t it at the respective center like VSC/TSC?

If that is true then won\'t NVC has to send the case back to your respective center e.g. VSC?

Yes to all...

when you send the 485 to the respective center, you should also send a letter to NVC (or call them) and inform that you are going to do 485. NVC\'s major responsibility in relation to 485 is allotment of alien number. Otherwise there is no role for NVC regarding 485 process
