Countdown of 180 day rule

I am a little confused on what day does the 180 day rule begin. My AOS receipts show the following dates. The AOS was filed on 31st July 2007. I received the AOS receipts on 04th Oct 2007. The receipt notice says the following.

Received Date: July 31, 2007
Notice Date: Oct 4, 2007
Notice type: Receipt Notice.

What date does the 180 day rule begin ? Please help me.

I485 Receipt Notice Oct 4, 2007
EAD and AP received Oct 23, 2007

The 180 days starts on the Receipt Date, not the Notice Date.

Thanks for the quick reply. So in my case, I should take July 31, 2007 as my 180 day rule countdown ? Just curious, what is the notice date then ? Is this the date when the case was received by the service center ? And RD is the received date of USCIS ?

If that is your Receipt Date, then yes.

The Notice Date is the date the Receipt was generated. Since the Service Centers are part of USCIS, the date USCIS receives it is the date the SC receives it.
