hi,

I have a political Asylum and I have applied for Green Card. yesterday i received an email from uscis.

"Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On December 2, 2005, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.
"

what does that mean.

thanks

If you had put your notice date (the date you received the first notice after you applied for I 485) and other steps you have done so far it would have beeb easier to tell. Also, if you go ahead and read the older posts especially the ones at the very top of all posts (stickies) you can teach yourself a lot about this.
This is most probably what we call it RFI or request for initial evidence that is the request for your medical exam (you need to see an INS approved doctor) and a form G 325. The request form will tell you what exactly you should do. wait till it arrives...

thanks memo.

i am new in this forum, i tried my best to read or search the forum.
but what i dont understand is,, all the people who are talking about RFI or RFE is when they are about to get green card and their ND is 2001 or 2002.

thats what i dont wanna think about at this time as my ND is 04/2004.

I recently changed my address and sent them AR11 few months back.

i think thats all. if there are any other dates.. let me know, i'll submit that too.....

ND 04/2004
FP 10/2005

Just sit tight and wait for the letter. It could be for any reason .. an RFI or some missing document. You should receive the letter in few days. Post what is says. let's not play the guess game.

hey qalandar

my ND is march 2004 and i just did a bio code 3 appointment and yesterday received the same email as you did. it is probably for the medical. I think we are going to see out cards very soon:) did you have code 3 done?
ian

okay i got the RFE. It was sent to my old address, although I have already submitted AR11. but my prev. landlord sent me those forms.

-----------
Request for Initial Evidence

your Application Has Not Been Reviewed By An Immigration Officer To Determine Legal Sufficiency Or Eligibility. However To Prepare Your Application For Adjudication You Must Provide The Following Initial Evidence

1. submit an updated ...... G325A
2. submit a completed medical examination form I-693.......

------------

so guys, what do you say now???

ianyu,

i am not sure what is Bio Code 3. (i mean the difference between code 1,2 or 3)
I had one finger print done when I applied for assylum.
then last year around october i've got another finger print done at INS office with a photograph taken as well.

hope that will answer your question.

Qalandar, RFI is sent to EVERY applicant. It is generated automatically by the USCIS computers. Its to make sure that all the applicants have submitted medicals and updated biographic forms. The reason they did this is because many of the later applicants(2003+) were guided not to include medical examinations in their applications..so many didn't..but many did.

SO instead of an officer going through each file to see if they have a medical, they send you this RFI to make sure that before the officer looks at your case, he has EVERYTHING as required by the law.

Once they get your RFI, medical exams, they put in the case that your RFI is complete and the officer can look at your case.

When the officer looks at your case, he may find something that he wants more input on from you. Lets say you forgot to sign some form or your doctor forgot to sign the medical form..or something like that. I got asked for copies of NP etc, look at my timeline.

So nothing is Good or bad so you should not panic. Do as they say. and you will be ok.
