Hi
I am a Canadian citizen and currently in the US working for a hospital on a H1B (Cap Exempt). Another hospital wanted to hire me and applied for a H1B (Cap exempt as well) under consular processing, so I can control my start date and the H1B was approved. I made plans to resign my current job at the end of the month, go to canada and return on the new H1B. However I just found out that the Canada - US borders are closed for non-essential travel. My questions:
1. Will I still be able to go to the border and return on the new Visa? Will they allow that? If yes airport / land advised?
2. Are there any other options?
3. Will the new hospital be able to now apply for a change of status petition now (since my consular petition is already approved) and I can start work as soon as the petition is filed?
Any help is appreciated.
