Hey to everyone!

My wife and I become residents on 11/20/2006 since then we made 4 trips abroad,
1st trip 156 days,
2nd trip 180 days,
3rd trip 105 days and the
4th one was 22 days.
I am sure we going to fulfill physical presence requirement, but my question is will
We fulfill continuous residence requirement? I am concern about the trip of 180 days.
How the immigration officer is going to look at that trip, like it was more or less than 6 months.

Thanks in advance!

Stays of upto a year are allowed but are a bit scrutinized at the interview, over all its not going to be really a issue, and you will be ok with your physical presence requirements for Nat'z.

What were gaps (time in US) between trips 1-2-3 ?Trips between 6-12 months presume a break in continuous residence unless you prove otherwise. You may be asked to provide such evidence for the 180 day trip, so be prepared at interview to provide such evidence. Furthermore, if the gaps were very small (a few days is US) between trips, you may be asked to provide evidence that you did not break continuous residence between period of trips 1 to 3. You're certainly not out of the woods.

1) Left USA on 28/11/2006, came back to USA 05/03/2007, days abroad 156
2) Left USA on 11/01/2007, came back to USA 04/29/2008, days abroad 180
3) Left USA on 12/08/2008, came back to USA 03/23/2009, days abroad 105
4) Left USA on 07/24/2010, came back to USA 08/15/2010, days abroad 22

Is 180 days less than 6 months? (my understanding of 180 days is 5 months and 28 days)

180 days is considered 6 months, regardless of what time of year it is since USCIS considers 1 month to equal 30 days.

So you stayed in US almost 6 months (or more) every time you returned. This does not indicate any back to back trips. Sounds promising.

You made my day! :)))))

In terms of continuous residence is this a big difference 179 days or 180 days? Can i still be questioned about it?

Thanks for making me 1 day
