connection flight through COP

i am an Ethiopian asylee. I am traveling to Djibouti, neighboring country so my family could come and meet me there. The problem is all flights that i could find connect through Ethiopia. If I connect through Ethiopia, I will not leave airport or see an immigration officer there. It will only be 3 hours, What will happen if my flight connects through my country of prosecution? Eventhough there is no chance I will be recognized. Isn't it an international rule that transiting through a country is not the same as being admitted in to that country?

India is also our friend. Do you know how many asylees are from India??

Anyway to answer your question, just by landing at a particular airport doest NOT mean that you have traveled to that country. Thats why "transit" visas are in place. So you should be OK only if your plane lands there and you don't clear immigration. It is just as flying atop a country, for example an airplane flying over ethiopia... got it?

I wouldn't do it.This is really risky. You will be still in that country's jurisdiction plus you are from there and this will give them right to do whatever they want to do with you or detain you.
The one million dollar question is that if they will have knowledge that you are in that plane and just in case if there is any problem with airplane or anything on that nature. You can not stay in transit and need to pass immigration and probably go to hotel. Then what?
Again I would find another way of going without even passing their sky.
Good luck

how about us customs are they going to give me a hard time for connecting through Ethiopia? Even though I was never admitted?

It might become question that why you put yourself in such a position.Honestly if I am CBP officer I will try to figure out that why you put yourself in such a unnessecery risk and if the asylum claim is genuine.
