Hey,guys i have a question and i hope there is somebody here who can help me with it!
ok sitaution is:
i'm an asylee since Feb 2005,i applied for the GC (form I-485)in Jan 07,have submitted my medical and my fingerprints in Feb 07(as requested by CIS).
In April 07 my case was transferred to NYC field office for "Faster Processing" :rolleyes:

On May 10th 07 i recieved a package from the NYC office containing form
I-864 ,Affidavit of Support,form I-864P and form I-693 Medical Examination!
Also there was YET another Fingerprint Notification and an apearance notice to see an Immigration Examiner.the whole thing is confusing as i didn't file for an employment-based GC and i have already sumitted my medical and my fingerprints.i'vr treid to contact their office but coludn't get any useful advice from those customer service reps(really useless):mad: .
What you guys think?!!:confused: your advice isreally appreciated!:)

Mr. NYcancerian:

You are very right that the whole affair is completed: there are three problems in your confusion. The affidavit of support; medical examination; fingerprinting;

The affidavit of support; we have not seen yet any asylee adjusting status who was asked to provide affidavit of support; it does not apply to asylees; possible theory as to why you got it. Some times USCIS use a generic forms for multiple purposes; it is possible that it is part of the form, but does not apply to you. Make sure you read carefully the form and see if it applies to you. If it is specifically highlighted for you, then you will need to write to them and explain your status and the type of benefits you are seeking.
Medical examination; if you have submitted your medical in Jan. 07 in the form of RFE, and they are asking for it again it is weird; possible theory as to why they are asking for it. Since you case was transferred from office to another, it is possible that your part of your information was lost, or may not have been transferred at all. What to do; if you can either write to them and explain to them that you did the medical, or you can simple redo the medical. It is gonna cost you extra money. Fingerprint; the same theory; you have no choice but just do them; it hard to tell as to why they are asking for it

In summary, if I were you;
I would write to them about the affidavit
Redo the medical and do the fingerprint
It seems somewhat irrational to redo the things; but you must behave irrationally in some cases when dealing with UCSIS….good luck

Thanx guys for the replies!

i'm sure the affidavit of support form does not apply to me..seems like the uscis people are on crack.everything is random and it gets frustrating at times:( .as for infopass the next available date is after my appearance date!
I had to do my fingerprint twice already(as they weren't clear enough for processing the first time)and i can't afford wasting money to redo my medical:mad: .god how annoyed and angery i am ggggrrrrrrrrr!

Ummm...not sure if it's an interview request.

it says that i have to see an immigration examiner! i'm not even sure what that is:confused:

The package you got was a form package. They do not have the ability to send out a customized package to asylee adjustment applicants.

You can safely ignore the request for an affadavit of support since that does not apply to asylees as a matter of law.

As for the medical exam, I am not sure how to proceed. If the previous submission is not on file then the officer will have no choice but to ask for another one before the case can be approved. Things do get lost at the USCIS when files move around from office to office.

looks like an interview to me.

you have no choice to but to show up as directed. So there is nothing to really worry about.

Oh,what about my fingerprints?!

they asked me to redo them again!

i already had to do them twice in 3 months(first time was biometrics in Feb 07,then i had to redo my prints again in March 07 'cause they weren't clear enogh for processing).

should i just disregard it as i think there isa big mex-up here?? really confused:confused: !
