Hi
I had interview for family based AOS. Everything went well, she took our AP and told us security check was pending. However before she told us this she asked us to sign a statement that ours is a conditional Green card and we need to remove the conditions before two years are completed. She said once the security check is complete she will approve. Has this happened to anyone else, have they signed any statement regarding conditional green card this way. I am confused as to what is going on here. Can anyone help.
Thanks

I dont know man, im having my interview this july and i should be getting a conditional GC as well since marriage is less than 2 years for me and I will let you know. Tell us in details how the interview went, what questions were asked, which docs required. Thanks

The interview was ok. How did you meet, proof of marraige and joint residence etc. We had lots of papers- joint lease, health insurance, bank statement, credit cards, car insurance so that was not a problem. She then asked for photographs, we had a bundle which we showed her and that was it as far as the interview was concerned. We had taken our lawyer along and ther was disagreement between the interviewer and our lawyer over whether we should hand over the AP or take it with us but that is another story.
Good luck with yours.

Nothing to worry about

What you signed was a letter informing you to file for a removal of your conditional status before your second anniversary.
if you forget or fail to do so, you might be deported.
That letter you signed was your official warning from INS, you might not get any other.

anyway – congratulations! you are the permanent resident now! :)

Hi Jane Green
I did not get a stamp as she said security clearance was pending, that is why I am confused. i know I am not a permanent resident till I get stamp but is it approved or what. Very confused.

interview got canceled and has to be reschedule

does anyone have their I485 interview canceled by INS and the case status said they will inform you if your interview is reschedule? Please share your experience.

Thanks for Tons!!

Unless you have a criminal background – there is nothing to worry about.
Once check completed and you cleared, you’ll get an approval letter with instructions to schedule an appointment for stamping.
Good luck!
