Conditions removed, haven't applied for new GC, is this going to be a problem??

I am married to a US citizen and we have successfully applied to remove conditions for my residency. We have already received the notification letter from USCIS saying that I should go to the District Office to apply for a new Green Card. However, I haven't yet gone to the USCIS office to get a new green card since I wanted to wait until I renewed my passport and it’s been a couple of months now. My question is will I face any issues when I do finally go down there? Would this be the same as renewing a Green Card that’s already expired (since I did have a conditional Green Card)?

Thanks

you mean they invited you to get a stamp in a passport that your status is extended for a year or did they approved your removal of conditions?

they've approved removal of conditions but i have to go in to get a new 10yr GC but they said that i also have to get a stamp in my new passport while i wait for the new GC (if i am travelling, etc)

Should not be a problem. I filed I-751 in Jan 2005 and my conditional was supposed to expire in Feb 2005. I got approved May 2005 and I have been asked to come in and submit photographs for new GC and get a stamp in passport. Sounds similar right!!

When did you get your approval? Usually you are allowed to renew your passport within 6 months of it's expiry. But I guess, it depends on the country which issued the passport. To get a stamp in Passport, your passport must be valid, for a minimum of six months.

Amintrouble, please tell me the supporting documents or proof of marriage u send along with the form 751, thankx
