:confused: What is I-485 INDOCHINA I see now-a-days in NSC Processing Times?

As far I understood it's vietnam, Laos or combodia

I think indochina = vietnam and/or Laos and/or combodia as in theory. but i am not sure if or why they have different category for I-485, but i think i can see so many category doesn't make any sense or may be not related to us. like

Good Analysis, this date is not exactly correct date, if you checked on www.rupnet.com, you can see lots of approval for september/ octomber as well, but INS want to give very conservative date, if you rember in past, like last year once date was 08/01/2001 and next month date went back to 04/01/01, becuase they found some case from april'01, so although they were working on 08/01 cases, becuase they found some back log from some storage area (!! ?) they moved date back, I think to reduce phone call from tne people they are publish very very conservative number

other thing I am guessing there might be large number of case filed from July to Dec'01, so i think once they complete upto dec'01 or jan'02 the process will became faster becuase of few cases filed around those time.

The one more thing might be becuase department change to BCIS or other screening process may taking longer time compar to year ago.


Looks like NSC is processing anything other than I-485.

My ND is 2/27/03 for EAD, I-140, AP, 485
The new update from Nebraska SC shows that they have made decisions on cases upto 3/4/2003 have been made and I havent heard anything, so kind of curious.

Has anyone faced this senario?

I gave my finger prints on 01/14/2003 and the online status is not updated yet.

Filed Concurrently ---------- I-140 and EAD approved

Anybody in the same situation?

Mine fp was done in last feb'03, no status update, but when i called IIO she told me they received fp report next day of fp done, before calling iio i also called fbi, and they said they send fp very same day.

I think online or avm status doesn't update for fp.

It updated in my case on website, i never checked on AVM.
It updated when they sent FP notice and when they got FP.

Waiting for EAD and I 140

EB3-I140 RD: Feb 20th, 2003

I485/EAD/AP RD: March 13th, 2003

FP done on : April 19th , 2003


EAD notic said it will be approved in 60 to 75 days. Haven't received any approval.

Is nebraska waiting for I 140 approval before approving EAD?

How long is it taking for I140 in Nebraska?

My receipt notice says 160 to 180 days.

Approval Notice Recd. around 05/22/2003 by attroney.

EAD Same RD and ND as 140. AD- 05/19/2003
Cards Recieved on 05/27/2003(for myself and spouse)

AP Same RD and ND as 140. AD-05/21/2003
Approval Receieve around 05/27/2003 by attroney.

No FP notice yet.

Don't worry, fp is based on the availiablity of time slot with your local INS center, so it's possible that center is very busy or has lots of back log for different process.

but it is not in any sequnce with any other I-485 process (so it doesn't mean your case is delayed) only thing is important is to have fp done before your I-485 approve.

But it's good to have fp done late as possible, becuase I think, it's valid for 15 months so if your I-485 is not approved after 15 months of your fp you have to do it again.

BTW mine fp notice came few(3-4) months after my I-140 and EAD approve. and sometime it goes to your lawyer, so check with your lawyer also.
