This is correct for a framed house (on a slab in the South, or with some different type of foundation in the North), but if it's a manufactured house - the one you cut in two pieces, bring with a trailer and put together at some mobile home park, then 30-50k is a right price for a 3 bdr / 2 bth house.

Believe me, friend, anything framed and built on a slab for this price is simply not worth the time looking at... it's a total crap, if not a scam. I am not saying that such prices do not exist, but such houses are either 50-80 years old, or damaged by fire or flood, or whatever makes them twice as cheap as the cheapest houses on the southern market. I was shopping for (and bought) a house in '07, so I'm confident in what I'm saying.

Maybe it is a nice house in the picture....made 10 years ago, and posted so you think it is a recently taken pics...maybe the foundation has cracks, etc..

I know even of a home in South Tampa for $ 300 K which for there is a awesome deal if you just look at the pics....but the realtor told me it is for the lot, the house is more to be destroyed...!

It isn't like in Europe...come in Monday morning and chat till 10 am about the weekend and start reading the newspaper (specially government jobs in Europe....hundreds of jokes about it, and they are funny because it is so true).

If some one else performs better and the company is not doing great...guess who will be let go? Also pay cuts...instead of getting fired your boss can decide to cut your paycheck and you have a choice to take it or leave.
Of course the other side is you don't have to give notice like 30 days upfront...

And most important to Europeans...no basic 25 days paid days off and more if you don't get sick or work at the job for a long time...If you are lucky you have 12 days and some have told me they were not even paid days off. Get sick...stay home=no income.
But if you are a hard worker you can make more money that in Europe...it is all up to you.

er no this is not true - I work more here and pay higher taxes compared with the jobs I had in EASTERN EUROPE and getting about the same money !!- I have to stress once again - I MAKE ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY AS IN EASTERN EUROPE -but I WORK 10+HOURS PER DAY (6 DAYS A WEEK)!!!!! + prices are higher for everything here then back home !!!!(food about 2X )-I WORK HARD BUT NO PROMOTIONS NOT EVEN ''WELL DONE '' LET ALONE PAY RISE (I requested revision but was rejected ).no paid leave + medical I got only AFTER 6 MONTHS - thank god I was healty -this was realy strange experiance to be without medical insurance for the first time in my life .I can't even immagine what would be if I was married with one or two children!! - someone said that the first year is always difficult but I'm here almost 3 years now and is getting more difficult by day

houses here are just barns - they are made of wood !! - back home we use wood when we need a barn or cover for haystack !! - they are selling them for crazy money -like 1/2 MILLION for a house built like that !!!- wood is OK for some temporary housing but house for 1/2 million made of wood NO THANK YOU - for that amount of money you can buy far nicer place for example in IBIZA (Spain) made of concrete and bricks with swimming pool

There is nothing wrong in the wooden framed houses. They have a lot of advantages, but that is off topic. One thing, Kolja, if everything is so bad and hard over here, and Ibiza with concrete and brick is so great, why not move to Spain?
