I got my GC through employment with my employer. I still work there, but the company has a different name than when they were applying for my GC. The reason is because the division I have been working for many years had spun off from the parent company. As a matter of fact, my company spun off from the parent company shortly after my GC, which was more than 5 years ago. Both companies still exist today.
I had recently applied for my GC in San Jose, CA. On my application, I listed the company's new name in the employment section as opposed to my parent company name. Nowhere did I mention the old company name.
My question is:
1. Do I need to justify to the interviewer, when I get the interview, it is the same company which had sponsored for my green card?
2. Will the interviewer know the name of the company who had sponsored for my GC?
3. What proof do I need to bring with me to show him/her I am still working for the same company? Will a company letter suffice in this case?
Please help.
