Hi,

Hope you are reading this in good health. I have a couple of questions and I hope I am posting them at the right place and a gentleman can answer them for me.

Before I ask here is the scenerio: I visited the US for 2 months in 2007 on B1/B2 visa sponsored by my then company. At that time I lost my passport and I had to get it re-issued via San Francisco embassy. When I came back to India my company got me another B1/B2 visa however the need to visit the US never arised. Since last 6 months I have been an entreprenuer and I own a US company which I got registered over the internet from India only. My company only serves US customers. In order to streamline the business which I own I need to visit the US. There are primarily 3 things that I need to do. 1. Open a corporate bank account. 2. Open a merchant account. 3. Hire a US employee.

Now my questions are:

1. At the port of entry which is going to San Francisco, should I tell the customs officer that I am here for the above mentioned reasons? These things are legitimate and allowed on my visa. Will the custom officer might have a problem with me coming to the USA for this reason.

2. I will have an apartment and a car pre booked before I make the visit. I do not know anyone in the US however I have already planned things and I have spoken to the bank where I have to go. Will this be a satisfactory answer for the customs officer.

3. I did not overstay at my first visit however as the passport was lost along the I-94(i did fill out another I-94 which the airline gave me) will the custom officer think that I overstayed? I have documents supporting which shows that I stayed within the allowed time period.

Any response will be appreciated. Thank you! :)

So you do not want to entertain a reply from a female forum member???

I hope I am posting them at the right place and a gentleman can answer them for me

A1: You truthfully answer each and every questioned put to you and you never lie or volunteer any information.
A2: See A1
A3: That depends on what information USCIS databases have on you. Carry proof that you left on a given date.

I will be happy to receive from female forum members as well :)

Thank you for response sir. I will be honest at the time of immigration but still I don't have an answer. Will they have a problem with me visiting the US to open a bank account?
