coming back to us...pls help

I was working with the company in US on H1 till March-2002 and then I laidoff and I went back to Canada, and also I gave old 1-94 at the boarder. I still Have I-797 including the bottom portion(I-94). Now the company called me back for the same job. Do I have to apply for new H1 or the old one will work. and what kind of papers should i take with me when i enter in to US. The I-797 paper has H1 expiry date Feb-2004.
