Coming back to US just before visa expires

Hi Friends,

I planning to go to India in Aug 2009. My visa stamping is expiring on Sep 30 2009 but my H1b validity is till July 2010. I am planning to return to US before Sep 20 2009.

1.Is it safe to return just 10 days before my visa expires?

Yes I do have a valid I-94 till 2010... but will that be of any use? Because, they will be taking away that I-94 when I am leaving right?

You have to surrender the I-94. Keep the copy of the I-94 front and back for your future records. Keep the H1 approval notice with you and show valid Visa and H1 approval notice at POE. also keep the employer letter with you and show if asked. post the update for others when you are back.
 
My h1, Visa on passport are expiring on Sept 20th 09. I am in India and planning on returning. In case your go earlier than expected, please send us your experience.

-----------------------do you have job in US with employer who filed your H1? do you have employer letter that employer has job for you? if no job then dont try to enter .
