Color copy of passport and Drivers ID ?

Is it mandatory to send color copies of passport and Drivers ID for EAD/AP renewals ? ( In particular NSC processing center )

I just sent enlarged b&w copies ....

EAD and AP got approved just fine (NSC).

Maybe folks are sending color copies only as a precaution --definitely its not MANDATORY.

I will be planning to renew my EAD/AP with NSC, I am not sure whether you have renewed it or fresh application but I would like to know the exact address where I need to send my application.

There are three different addresses in NSC, (for EAD/AP), but they didn't mention anything particular for renewal.

Awww .. don't know that ... I applied using my attorney.

Can we send the EAD & AP applications to one PO Box? Sort of concurrent filing of these two? CIS website describes where to send when 485/EAD/AP are filed concurrently, but not exactly EAD & AP.

I have applied for 6 EAD renewals (for self & spouse) from NSC, and got them approved too. But don't remeber seeing Drivers Licence copy/ Passport as a required document. Where do you guys see that, or the color copy reqmt? I think all you need I-485 notice, I-140 notice, I-94 (front & back), old EAD (front & back), stub from the previous EAD mailing notice along with the appln & fee.

Not sure of the AP applications, but I don't see them as a requirement in the I-131 instructions!

The RFE referred therein probably came because they submitted illegible copies for the first time application. In my 6 RFE revewals (all I did myself) never included a color or other copy of DL/Passport. See the official requirements at:

I always send color copies of passport first page, previous ead card, driver's license. NSC often RFE's for them, so why bother risking it, especially if you are working on EAD. It doesn't takes much to send them anyways.

Note that many stores like Office Depot/Max/Staples might not make color copies of DL/EAD. There is a law that they cannot do color copies of govt issued IDs (go figure the conflicting govt rules!). If u run into the issue, go to Kinko's or a similar "do-it-yourself" shop.
