Hi,
I got married two weeks ago and my husband is a US citizen. He is however not working and currently in school full time and I am on a student visa. Do we need a co sponsor for application on our green card or does he just need to show proof of financial stability?

Without him having income, a joint sponsor will be required, unless he has enough assets (more than $91K) to eliminate the income requirement.

Go to www.uscis.gov and pull up the form I-864 and associated instructions. Review them thoroughly and compare with requirements listed on I-864P found at the same website.

Yes. However I am not too sure if a house can count if there is a lien holder involved. In other words, the house has to be fully paid off for it to count. Partial equity in a house does not count, I think.

Does a house count as an asset if it is worth more than than?
