Cn ~ As28000

If you send I-485, it is likely you will have to leave the country after October 1. It is also likely you will not be able to get another F-1 visa.

No, it is incorrect. You status is OK until you are called to CIS office and offered to sign voluntary departure because you have an immigrant intent. If you refuse, you could be deported.

If you ever will see CN 28000 for your region, I guess its in August or later and AOS that late is a high risk not finishing the process before Oct. 1

saharm24 : Are you in DV2009? I am F1 student and I am 2009AS23xxx as well.
We are in same boat~

1. I chose for CP instead of AOS because many said high rank number should
go on CP . It would be safe and easy.

2. I am not sure about the F1 Status and I Was planning to Re-stamp F1 this summer,
however, the winner NL stopped me to do so as I corncern about the "intent immigrant"
issue too~

GOOD AND BAD thing for receving this High Rank Number~~

1-If I apply for AOS and it is denied, will I be out of status? Will I miss my F1 status?
If you manage to get to the interview but are denied, you will have to depart volunteerly. If you do not manage to get an interview, both situations are possible.

2- I f I apply for AOS, and later decide to cancel it (without getting a results), will I miss my F1 status?
Hard to say. Both situations are possible.

3- If I choose to have AOS, does it affect my F1 now? or it can be effective later (near the DV interview) when I apply for AOS.
It does not affect your F-1 status now. But after you apply for AOS it might be affected.

I scheduled appointment for both attorney and USCIS this week to consult about the AOS.
Yes, you are right, either AOS/CP, no matter what we will be consider as "intent immigrant".
In fact, this is not fair, but I don't often think USCIS does care too much ~~sigh.

About High rank number such like mine 23xxx ~~ actually, you will have to pray for the country that you come from. ***Just for a hope, if all of the Iran citizen got the CN higher than you, then you will have more chances. You know what I mean? Well, just an assumption

Anyway, I will post whatever I heard from lawyer and USCIS

I am just guessing, It might be wrong. but there is a chance that kcc has changed the habit and put all the numbers from different continents together in series.

In fact, I saw people is posing their number as AS56000 and EU25000 and
AS 28000 ~~

I am wondering, how come the number can be generated that big if
the Selected people only limited to 100,000 ~
56000+25000+28000 = 144,xxx ~already ~~

how come it can be such as big number CN?
Please advise everybody

Sahar and Benji,

I'm in the same situation as you, only 2008 with CN AS16'000.

I am on F1 also, so I chose AOS last year. my number is not current yet, it might be in August.

due to the risks that you just talked about (losing F1, if AOS is not completed in-time), I haven't done anything after informing KCC of doing AOS last year.

at this point, I might just give up, because I don't want to risk my current status and future.

till recently, I didn't know that DV lottery might risk my F1 Visa. you guys that know this, might want to consider this right now !

we can share our hearings/experiences on this, more

good luck

hi

they normally pick the numbers randomly but ensuring a certain proportion of winners from each region. dont be fooled that asian numbers should be less than 16000s. So any region can have an indivual with both high or low numbers. the reason why Oceania or australia region have low numbers is because they have few applicans and according to KCC policy each region will contribute certain number of people. So KCC will always first pick the Oceania CN randomly and then other regions will follow. So ASia is not immune from high case numbers.
