Class of admission category

I'm trying to help my mom renew her green card. Under class of admission, the instructions state it should be a 3 letter/number code. On my mom's current card under category it just says "X"... Just the letter "X". Has anyone seen this before? Is it a valid category? In my searching around I have only ever seen a 3 letter/number category. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
Sec. 203(a)(4) of the 1965 Act and it was among the "Non-preference quota visas" for immigrants who are the married sons or the married daughters of citizens of the United States (it probably also include their dependents, ask her). It is among Classes Currently Not In Use for Legal Permanent Resident Aliens.
