I received my citizenship interview letter September 21 that my interview will be on November 8th.But then I received a letter mid of October that your interview had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. I went to the immigration office they told me you will receive a reschedule in 30 days. I waited 30 day did not receive anything. I have not received anything it’s been 4 months I have been back there 4 time no answer. I wrote to my congresswomen she got a reply from then saying it’s in progress and there no time table can be given. HELP GUYS what should I do now.

What did the congresswoman's response say, precisely? Was there a mention of the background checks or something of the sort? Also, what do you mean by saying "I have been back there 4 time"? Do you meant that you took 4 INFOPASS appointments?
Did you try to file an e-Request about the status of your case? See
https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do;jsessionid=bacPxCSiZ7PW_eVLDn47s
Did you try contacting the two U.S. Senators for your state? The CIS Ombudsman?

Yes reponse was background check and it was info passed that i took 4 times.I have not contacted any of the senators yet.i have no idea what "CIS Ombudsman? " is can you please about it i will really appreciate it.Thank you

The mention of a "background check" means that the FBI Name Check is still not complete. They don't schedule an interview until the FBI Name Check is done, but occasionally they do make a mistake and send an interview notice before the FBI Name Check is finished. That is what must have happened to you and that's why your interview was cancelled. The FBI Name Check is conducted by the FBI and the USCIS has little impact on the process. Even a congress member request can't help make it faster.

As a practical matter, the only thing you can do to make them expedite the name check and the interview is to file a Writ of Mandamus (WOM) lawsuit. See the lawsuit thread in this forum for the information about that:

For the explanation about the CIS Ombudsman see
http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/editorial_0482.shtm

Although neither the Ombudsman nor the Senators can expedite an FBI Name Check, you should still submit a request for help to them. If you do end up filing a WOM, you'll need to demonstrate that you have made considerable effort to resolve your case prior to filing a WOM.

I had an interview before my name check was complete. They routinely do that.

It occasionally happens, but rather rarely and they certainly do not routinely do that. Up until a couple of years ago long name check delays were common and USCIS often got hit with 1447(b) lawsuits if they had an interview before the name check was complete and then the case was still pending 120 days later because they were still waiting for the name check results. As a result of those lawsuits, the USCIS changed their policy and the interview is not supposed to be scheduled until the name check is done.
There was an official policy memo from USCIS regarding this very issue:
http://www.avlawoffice.com/YatesMemoBackgroundChecks.htm

So now if an interview is scheduled before the name check is finished, it is by mistake and they de-schedule it if the mistake is caught in time.

I had the same experience. my interview was supposed to be on 05/26 but got call from USCIS office saying my interview has to be cancelled due to background check pending. Hasan786 did you get any correspondence from uscis.

Nope still waiting tried 4 different lawyers all says the same thing you will have to wait it can take 1 month or 10 years all depend when they want to do it. Lawyer told he have a client waiting for 5 years even the lawsuit did not even help his client.

I have been following this thread "Anyone with a lawsuit against USCIS or thinking about a lawsuit (Merged)". Search for it in the forums.
People such as cafeconleche have recently got their citizenship after filing lawsuit. How come the lawyers you contacted told you to keep waiting and not file lawsuit.
