I will be eligible to file my application for citizenship in August 2009, five years after getting my Green Card approved.
Could I apply it early say February 2009, for citizenship?

You can file up to 90 days from your 5 year anniversary of obtaining your GC.
 
Ok, let me understand it clearly, so if my anniversary is in on August 10, 2009, can I apply on May 11, 2009? Three months in advance?

We are talking about GC anniversary not your wedding anniversary.....just wanted to clarify, that's all ;)

You can apply 90 days in advance. That is not always the same as 3 months, and the difference is important. USCIS rejects applications that arrive even one day early.
