Citizenship application for self and minor child

I am in the process of applying for CITIZENSHIP using N400 form. I would also like to apply for my minor son's CITIZENSHIP simulatenously. BUt N400 is only for 18 and over. I can use N600 for him only if I am a citizen. How do I get around this conundrum?

Thanks

You file an N-400 for yourself and, once you become a citizen, file an N-600 for your son. The only other available option is to let your son wait until he turns 18 and let him file his own N-400. Obviously, it's more prudent to go with the first option.

Your son (minor child) becomes a citizen the minute you do provided he's in your legal custody and lives with you as a LPR . You would need to fill and send out N-600 once you become a citizen so that you can document that he is a US citizen.

Be ready to wait more than 1 year to obtain the certificate for your child depending on your DO.
