Citizen sponsor sibling

Hello

After hours of research I really don't feel like I have an answer.

I will become a US citizen In Jan 2010. I can sponsor my UK parents right away and it appears straight forward for them to get gc.
However my sister on the other hand is a sticky one. From what I am reading it takes 10+ years for her.

We have been in the states for years, and my sister ages out at 21 and I was hoping my GC to citizenship would secure her a GC. Not so...

Can my parents sponsor her as unmarried child when they get GC? I have read they can but is the timeframe similar?
Is it better for them to do it as GC holder or me to do it as citizen.

That is correct.

There is no age-out clause for sponsoring for direct sibling. Its only for your sister's children.

Yes, but the time frame is similar. Might have to wait till your parents get citizenship (~6-7 years from now) and if she is still unmarried, then another year or so. That might be quickest.
 
You both (sibling and parent) can sponsor her, but if she has overstayed, she cannot adjust in the US using either sponsorship. If she leaves, she will be banned for 10 years. I am assuming she has overstayed for more than 1 year.

Are you sure about that? I think that once the parents have the GC they can sponsor their children (unmarried) for GC without requiring to be a citizen. If that would be the case then via parents will be faster.
 
Yes, the I-130 approval and its becoming current will be quicker via the parents if the OP's sister remains single. However she will not be able to adjust her status if she is in the US after having accrued an overstay.

Parents on GC can sponsor their unmarried children, but the PD will come around possibly about the same time when they become US citizens (4-5 years). That's what I meant.
