Citations and Court Disposition

Hi,

I had a ticket in 2005 - somewhere in Boston. I am in NY now. I called the court and got them to mail the court hearing paperwork. The hearing result was that the fine was reduced from 150 to 100 and I paid [but I have no idea how to get that proof]. How would I go about getting the proof that I paid and should I send the court hearing result along with the N400 application? Or should it be only sent if the result was that the case was dismissed with 0 fine?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

The court should be able to provide you a receipt stating the fine was paid in full, although per USCIS instructions no documentation is required for traffic fines under $500.

Thanks Bobsmyth

A follow-up:

1. So, should I put Yes to Q.16 and No to Q.17? or is it Yes to both of them?

2. And should I send the court hearing paperwork along with the N400 application or take it along with me when the interview is setup?

Thanks again!

Mike

A1: Answer yes to Q16 only. I had one "no passenger seat belt" citation and I said yes to Q16 only.
A2: Take it along to the interview. You can still attach copies to the N-400 is you so desire.
