Chinese applying for asylum

Hey,

I am Chinese and want to apply for asylum in the United States. I have worked with organizations supporting independence for Taiwan. Is this good enough for getting asylum?

It is not that simple... first, are you being persecuted? is your life in danger if you are to go back to your home country? Does any of your family members or you are being threaten? can you prove it?
If no, you do not qualify for asylum...

If you fear persecution by your goverment or groups which the government is unable or unwilling to control, on account of something that you are doing.... or membership in a group....

Then, you can apply for asylum... it is advisable to hire a lawyer... they can help you put your case together in the right way.

If you did work for Taiwanese independence and the work was sincere, that could be a very good ground for an asylum claim. The Chinese government is of course crazy about "liberating" Taiwan. Moreover, it has brainwashed many Chinese citizens to such an extent that on this issue you can legitimately fear persecution from the people of China (and maybe a few souls on this forum too) as well, not only the government. :D

I suggest that you consult an attorney becausing applying for asylum is such a serious matter. But you appear to have a very good reason to apply.

In my friend's chinese friends cases, they all got their asylum approved based primarily on the notion that they fear persecution from the ccp because they want to believe in a religion (christian) and they all want to have more than one baby.
 
Wendy,

Many peoplel have received asylum for the reason you referred to. Retain a good lawyer and good luck in leaving for good a country as sick as China.
