My child's green card states a different birth date than it actually is. I have to put her birth date on my N-400 - should I use her actual birth date or the one on her green card?

What is the need to send a copy of child's birth certificate? The child is not the applicant here.

Further down the line your child might be eligible to automatically acquire US citizenship if you naturalize. If that is the case, you will be applying for child's passport and the documentation required for that are: child's original green card, child's original birth certificate and parent's naturalization certificate (and parent's marriage certificate if the father is the only naturalized parent).

I can see a problem at that time - birth dates on child's green card and birth certificates won't match.

You will have to fix the error on the child's green card.

Why did you notice it only now?

You need to fix it on the GC. I am surprised that they issues SS number with different DOB in passport and on GC.
You need to file I-90 (Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card) and select that his biographical information changed. Submit cover letter explaining situation and copy of birth certificate or passport.

On N-400 you obviously need to put down the correct DOB from the birth certificate.

Good luck!

Did you write the correct DOB on his I-485 form? if you wrote the DOB correct on form I-485 as on his birth certificate then it is USCIS mistake file I-90 (no fee) .if you wrote his/her DOB wrong on I-485 form then it is your or your lawyer mistake and you need to file I-90 with fee.

Why bother to fix the GC if the child will become a citizen immediately upon the parent passing the interview and taking the oath. It's almost as much time to get a new GC as it takes to go thru the naturalization process.

Sending a copy of the birth certificate with the application would serve as evidence that the birthdate USCIS has on file is incorrect, just in case it comes up as an issue. It's not a requirement, just a suggestion.

I 100% agree with you. However the child's GC will be needed for the passport application based on my understanding. If his GC has incorrect biographical information it may or may not be accepted as proof of LPR.

I guess the OP will find it out... ;)
