Asylees can't get dual citizenship . But it has got some good stuff though.

I don't see why not? we are still citizens of our native countries despite what happened to us. You will have to fill out special forms (you can check with your native country embassy) and pay money (in some cases a lot) to get your original citizenship revoked (if they didn't revoked it automatically when you left). If you don't do this, you are still citizen of your country. Doesn't matter if you escaped or whatever happened. Again ... different countries, different rules. I would check with the embassy if you are really concerned, but nobody here will ask you to do that. So, when you get your citizenship here, you will automatically have dual citizenship. However, some countries will require you to register (like Germany), but I don't see them revoking your citizenship based on taking another one. In the best case scenario they might never know. In the worst case scenario, you will be an American. So who cares ...

The truth is that almost all Asylums are sought from 3rd world countries (check out the list of countries at BCIS website). The only european country from which asylums were sought is Romania.

Anyway my point is that 3rd world countries are all screwed up (including Yours truly's) and that is the reason we sought asylum in the first place. So they are not at all concerned who gained another citizenship. (India was very strict in this regard, even they have recently loosened up rules on dual citizenship).

So don't worry and just chill. Your country doesn't care where you have vanished and quite frankly you should not care about the country either, especially that you bad mouthed in front of American officials.
