Yes. Infact personal check is a preferred mode of payment on this forum, because you can easily know when it was cashed by USCIS.

I am not sure if the mutual fund money market check is OK or not.
If you are not sure either, just do not use the mutual fund money
market check. Use your regular bank checking account check
