Check List for I-485

I just had my I-140 NIW approved from TSC. Now I have a question about I-485 application.

I am a F1 student now. I will graduate on 8/7/04. I've already applied EAD card (OPT related), it will be effective on 8/8/04. My current mentor is going to give me an offer after my graduation.
I want to apply EAD for my wife and AP for both of us.

Now my question is: what materials are needed for my I-485 application?

Another question about Birth certificate, will a notary copy from the passport showing my birthday and birthplace ok, or I must get one from China?

* You only asked for I-485 filing I don’t know if you are filing I-140 and I-485 concurrently with EAD, AP. I will only post the documents for I-485 read below:

I-485 form
USCIS FEES+ fingerprinting fees (recently fees has increased)
Copy of all the past H1 approval notices and valid H1 approval notice
Copy of recent valid I-94 (both the sides)
Medicals
2 photographs immigration style
Copy of passport pages
Employer letter for future permanent job
If I-140 filed or approved then I-140 filing receipt or I-40 approved copy.
Copy of Birth certificate
If no Birth certificate then Non- availability certificate AND 2 affidavits.

If i missed anything others will let you know
** if you are filing I-140, EAD AP and I-485 then ask the list of documents from your lawyer or search the past threads it has been posted many times and you can check the instructions with I-485 form or I-140 Form.

----- NO, it will NOt be accepted for adjustment of status or with I-485
or I must get one from China?
---- YES, get your Birth certificate from China and attach the copy of BC with I-485

I am only applying for I-485. I-140 already approved.

What about Police Report. Good conduct report or No-Criminal Charge certificate from Police station. Is there anything like this.

** good that I-140 is approved. if you also apply AP, EAD then dont forget to send color copy of your passport first page(that has your photo, DOB, Name) AND color copy of driving licence with other form I-131 for AP and I-765 for EAD and other requirements.
What about Police Report.
---- not needed, they will send fingerprint notice after some time
Good conduct report or No-Criminal Charge certificate from Police station. Is there anything like this.
------ nothing like that. FBI will check everything with your Fingerprints later before I-485 approval.

about employment letter

One more question:
Since I am a F1 student now, I don't have an employer yet. If my mentor is wiling to write an employment letter for my future job, can I use that as the employment letter for I-485 (but I won't be employed at the time I submit my I-485)? If he doesn't want to give me an offer, does that mean I can't file I-485 until my graduation and find an employer? I never hold H1 visa in USA, so I don't need to submit anything related to H1 in the I-485 list,
right?
