Changing jobs after EAD

I recieved my EAD on May 26th 2006, The concurrent filing date (EB2-PD 2002 Feb) was April 27th 2006.
1)when can I change the job?
2) If I lose the job, will I be OUT OF STATUS until EAD has surpassed 6 months?

----------- I-140 approved and I-485 pending more than 180 days

----------------------EAD is based on pending I-485, if I-140 gets denied then I-485, EAD AP all get denied. wait for your I-140 approval and then think of invoking AC21 or changing job. better be on H1 status

Thanks for your prompt reply. What is I-140 was approved in that case will I be out of status if company lays me off?

So long as you have a pending I-485, you remain in status, employed or not.

My situation is similar but a little different.
I have my I-140 approved in June, 2005, and my I-485 was submitted in Nov. 2003. I quit my job in April and took a long vacation. I have a EAD card, and got a new job now. While I was taking a vacation, I got a RFE for the employment verification and the new employer's ability to pay if I changed jobs.

My questions are:

1) Are there any legal limits on how long it should be between the previous employer and the new employer with my EAD and I-485 pending status?
2) How do I list all employment stating and ending dates since there is a gap/vacation, and RFE requires to list if changed jobs?
