Changing Employment location with same employer during GC processing

Hi.

I used to work in the Atlanta Branch of my Company in 2001 when my GC Processing began. Halfway thru , I moved to the California branch in 2002. My company filed another Labour certification for me in CA in May 2002. In July 2004 my Atlanta Labour certification got approved. The HR dept of my company told me they can start the I140 andI485 concurrent processing for my case using this Labour certification, but once the GC process is complete, I will have to work in the Atlanta office for 6 months. My I140 was approved on August 9th.

I could not find any documentation anywhere that states this requirement. Is this a USCIS requirement for my GC to be valid or is this something that my company is coming up with ?

EB GC is for future employment, and once you get the GC, you are required
to work for the sponsor company at the location LC was filed.
Working in Atlanta for 6 months after GC is long enough or too short to satisfy future employment requirement is not clear. There is no such guideline, but there has been said 6 month is long enough...

What happens if I change my employer using my EAD. It has been 11 months since my I485 has been applied. Also my I140 got approved on the 9th of August.

Where exactly did you get that one has to continue to work for current employer for 6 months? Why can't someone quit the day GC is in hand. I have seen many who quit right after 485 approval date and before receiving card in hand.

Use AC21

You can use AC21 to work for a different location, but for the same employer if 180 days have passed after your I-140 approval. Honestly, I dont think INS cares what is your work location after you get the GC, as long as you work for the same employer.
