Changing Consulates.

Hi Guys,

I would like to know how long would there be a delay if i apply to change the consulate for my H1b re-stamping . Since it was mentioned that i could change Consulates from Chennai to any other(I would like to choose Canada) by filling the i-824 form. Since i am not born in Cananda has anyone done similar stamping?). My extension of stay has been denied at this point and would like to get some answers.

If you dont have a US degree it might be difficult to get a H1 stamp in passport in canada. I presume that you have received I797 approval (without I94). You can book an appointment with nvars.com But if the visa is rejected you have to go to home country to get the visa stamping. I824 has been used at this point. You can always send a letter to chennai consulate requesting them to forward the h1 approval to the canadian consulate.
