Change of Status from H4 to H1

Hello,

Recently i had my COS applied from H4 to H1 ,which was approved with an approved H1 petition I797, which has a new I94 form attached . Now, my question is whether my I94 record (at POE when i came with H4), would it be updated with status as H1 ? or i should have both I94 together

(Both of these I94 have same number.)

Is H4 to H1 same as filng a fresh H1 or any diffrent. It will take same amount of time, i.e. April to October, I mean you can start work in october only !

If it's first h1, it's the same as fresh.

How much is cost for H4 to H1 COS. My lawyer gave me fig of $5020, even thou I have H1B approved, it is just COS.

My wife is also doing COS from H4 to H1, and her attorney said its going to be effective from oct (if gets approved) , I want to know if any of you are in similar situation.
