Hi i was given a b1 status on my I94, I'm Canadian visiting the US for 4 months as a visitor for pleasure, but I think the cbp gave me the wrong status on my I94, does it matter? during my visit I have a job offer under a TN title. Can I still change from b1 to tn? thanx in advance.

B1/B2 is a minor oversight -- not to worry.
The question is why you were given an I-94 in the first place. Mosy Cdns traveling to US for B1 or B2 get nothing. Was there some doubt that you would return to Canada?

In any event, you will go to border and get TN. You would be switching from B1 (or anything else) to TN, since you will have left US.

Hi Nelson, thanx for the reply,
I guess there was doubt that I would be returning to Canada therefore the I-94. There is something written on the back of my I-94 card, "controlled admission". Would this be a problem if I applied by mail. Again this would be a temporary job for me here.

TN will solve all that. No need for Cdn ties at that point.

My guess is that you have a boyfriend in US, and the border feels you will overstay.
