Hi,

My employer wants me to shift to a different city( say -- Newyork). My I-140 is being processed with a labor cert based in dallas, tx. So if I move to NY will my 1-140 application be void. Will I have to restart the GC process from scratch ( meaning --labor cert)

Thanks in advance.

----NO, GC is for future job

NO, just be on H1 status and if you move to new location your employer has to get new LCA for the new job location.
** dont get confused LCA is for H1B and LC is for GC

Thanks for the clarification..

So do you mean that the current I-140 application will continue to be processed. I also have chosen Consular processing instead of 485. So when I appear for interview in Chennai, will that be OK. ( I will be working in NY but my CP application would have dallas in it).
What happens if my employer iniforms USCIS about my move to NY. WIll they cancel the I-140 application.

thx,
Bharath

----- YES

---- no problem
What happens if my employer iniforms USCIS about my move to NY.
----- why they have to inform? they are not supposed to do, you are on H1 status and I-140 is for future permanent job

WIll they cancel the I-140 application.
----- if the employer does not Revoke the I-140 USCIS will not cancel I-140, many are working on H1 at diffrent locations and I-140 and I-485 is pending/filed at diffrent locations. relax!!
