Change of address after filing I-485

Folks!

I am going to file for i-485 in few weeks. And a month after that I am moving to new apartment. Both the old and new places are in same state (Michigan). So it is merely home location change. But I don't have this new apartment address finalized yet or in hand.

Now I have read in some of the threads and posts that changing the address at USCIS is not straight forward and simple. And USCIS continues to send correspondence ( if any) at address mentioned originally in the application ( which in this case would be my old apartment address).

My question to all of you is; Can I use the address of my friend who lives in another state (Illinios)?

Thanks in advance for your response

----------------NO, you are NOT living at that address, provide the address where you are staying when filing I-485

Thanks ginnu! ... but I am afraid given what USCIS has been doing with others I am very reluctant to give the current address. It will be nightmare to have it changed latter on. I will throw it out to my lawyer as you suggested.

Again thanks!
