My GC (AS6) was approved in 2006. I actually never received (because it was lost, I did the I-90 .....) til yesterday
it is valid until from 2005 to 2017. I thought it was 10 ans. is it a mistake?

They probably gave you 10 years after the replacement was produced, so that gives you 2017, and backdated the start date to 2005 because you are an asylee.

The card will expire on the given date in 2007. Your status will not. You will need to get a new card if you are not a citizen by then.

just curious; do you know some people who are thinking of never becoming USC? and keep their CG for lets say 20 years. Isnt it a problem for IO because they have the proof that the GC holder has no intend to change his status.

There is no obligation to apply for US citizenship. Some people stay with only a green card for 40+ years until they die. For some there are many disadvantages to obtaining US citizenship, especially if it means they would lose their birth country's citizenship.
